TraderForum – A Private, Collaborative Consortium of Trading Professionals

At core meetings throughout the year, members experience unparalleled interaction with their network of peers and industry-leading panelists through roundtable discussions, plenary sessions and collaborative workshops. Because brokers and vendors are not eligible to join, members enjoy private, off-the-record contact with other buyside asset managers – ranging from some of the world’s largest fund complexes and institutional managers, to hedge funds, public funds and investment boutiques.

Member-Driven Content with Unbiased, High-Level Insight

TraderForum’s high-value membership features open access to conferences, proprietary research and surveys that present an independent, impartial perspective on the industry as a whole. Weekly polls, a password-protected, interactive website, issue-specific webcasts, journal subscriptions and several high-level research studies conducted annually provide members with invaluable tools to both measure themselves against their peers and gain new advantages in a highly competitive landscape.

Members actively assist in shaping the structure of conferences and meetings, assuring that topics covered are both relevant and objective. Additionally, TraderForum’s dedicated staff, led by Executive Director and conference moderator Lew Knox, prides itself on a strident commitment to impartiality and professionalism.

Proprietary Research & Surveys

Every summer, TraderForum conducts a topical research survey, combining in-depth member interviews and case studies with a deep-dive survey. Recent topics were the broker vote and commission budgeting process, electronic venue analysis and transaction cost analysis. TraderForum members also receive a special edition of an annual compendium of the commission surveys conducted globally by Greenwich Associates. In addition, TF conducts a Compensation Survey, which presents the range of annual earnings packages among member trading firms, and TF’s members may submit questions to the entire membership through electronic polls called TFQs.

Meetings at a Glance

TraderForum hosts several annual membership meetings and one sponsored event throughout the year– the Fall Regional Roundtables, the Winter Workshop, Equity Trading Summit, and the Annual Conference. Each meeting addresses a specific issue or theme affecting traders in today’s marketplace. Following each conference or meeting, a written summary report is distributed to attendees and all members in a newsletter format.

FALL REGIONAL ROUNDTABLES

ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Date: May
Location: This two-day meeting takes place each spring in various financial centers in North America
Programmed for high-level delegates, the agenda of this meeting focuses on how head traders can improve procedures on their desks, better manage their brokerage relationships, and structure their desks in a changing marketplace. A relaxed setting encourages casual interaction and information sharing.

The ability to meet peers in relaxed surroundings gives a chance to compare notes and become more familiar with recent industry trends.
