Brexit, MiFID II and European Funds
The Brexit vote and its impact on the EU passport, along with MiFID II developments, have raised a host of questions for asset managers doing cross-border business. A number of UK firms are looking to offshore jurisdictions as a way to sell their funds into Europe, though it is unclear whether they’ll be able to delegate portfolio management to the UK. Third-country managers that have UK businesses are assessing their positions as well.
